Frances' Birthday Party

For the past few years, we've had nice weather the first week of October. This year, the year we planned a party at the park, it decided to be cold and rainy. So we took the party indoors at the Rec Center. The prices were reasonable and there was much less cleanup involved for me!
The cake this year was a horse. Not necessarily my best work, but she loved it and that's all that matters!

We celebrated with my parents, my younger brother, Ken's dad, Ken's brother, sister-in-law and niece; our friend Julie and her kids, and Stacey and her daughters.  My dad brought these hats he found at the flea market to give out as party favors. Then he tried to duck out of the picture while Alan modeled it!

We ate cake, chips, and ice cream and then Frances got to open presents (with supervision).  Benjamin really liked the cake part!

 Then we just hung around for a bit...

 and had fun visiting with each other! (and playing with my new phone)
