The Sunshine Award

I think I may have mentioned that I have my blogging calendar all filled up for the month of October, but I am not one to make a plan and stick to it! (Ask Ken, it drives him crazy!!)  So, this weekend when I was nominated for a Sunshine Award, I was able to scoot something else out of the way and graciously accept.

I'd like to thank my mom, my dad,...oh wait! that's not how you accept this award!  It comes with some very specific instructions!

 Here are my answers to Missy questions:

1. Paper or plastic? Neither, I have a huge collection of reusable bags in my van that we use.
2. What's your favorite movie of all time?  The Princess Bride. I could watch it over and over again!
3. When do you begin decorating for the holidays (whichever ones you celebrate)?  I like to take my holidays one at a time.  Currently we are in Halloween mode. On November 1st we can start in on Thanksgiving, and Christmas-time starts the 29th of November.
4. What is your earliest memory?  One of my earliest memories is that of my little brother Alan getting into a hornets' nest is a bush outside the neighbor's house and getting stung all over. I have a vivid recollection of some salve in a blue glass bottle that we used to put on the stings.
5. Have you ever named your vehicle?  Currently Ken's truck is named Franklin.  Before that he had a Blazer named Flash.  We've had the van since June, but still haven't named it.  I should get on that!
6. What's you favorite Fall activity?  Family time at the apple orchard or pumpkin patch.
7. What music genre is your favorite?  I like (and will listen to) many different things, but my radio is usually on a Top 40 station.
8. What would your ideal day look like?  I would love to spend the day with my family, maybe take a hike or go for a walk.  A mid-day nap with everyone all snuggled together would be fun.  And NO ARGUING!
9. How to you relax?  My husband laughs at me, but even on the nights when I am exhausted I still need to sit on the couch and watch a TV show to unwind from the day.
10. What was the best meal you ever ate? That's a tough one!  I think a meal of my mom's pepper steak over hot rice in the dining room of my parent's house would have to be it!
11. What's one thing you'd like people to know about you?  Well, I'm not a private or shy type of person, so it's hard to think of something that people don't already know...
