Five Minute Friday: Ordinary
1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community...
Five minutes on ordinary...
I woke up today at 6, just like always. Actually I woke up at 3 AM too, because Ben's feet had gotten uncovered and he was yelling for me. I guess it goes without saying that I've been tired lately because of incidents like that. I got in the shower and then sat on the couch to start thinking about my day. Or to check facebook...
It's Friday again! I am making plans to do nothing all weekend. Well, maybe fold some laundry on the couch and let the kids watch movies all day Saturday. Things have been real busy lately and I am craving some boring. Just a regular, ordinary weekend, with not much to do.
In high school I used to be much more of an extrovert. I loved being around people and going places and doing things. Lately though, all the "doing" and "going" and being "on" have been wearing me out. I need a day to sit around in yoga pants and cuddle my babies. I can tell from their behavior that an ordinary day like that would be good for them too.
I am setting the bar extra low this weekend. Only the essentials will be accomplished. Nothing out of the ordinary is allowed, so that our minds, bodies, and spirits can have a break.
P.S. I won't be here for Five Minute Friday next week as I'll be on a women's retreat with my church. I wouldn't mind your prayers while I'm gone.
