Dear Diary

September 1, 2015
Dear Diary,

We put our oldest on the train to school for the first time today. Watching him load that trunk, cautiously climb the steps, and find a seat brought back so many memories. I remember watching so many brothers board that train before I finally had the chance myself!

I hope that he has a good year. Honestly? I hope he has a boring year! I had lots of great adventures at school, but they got a little intense there for a while. Thinking back on all we overcame is just mind boggling. True, I came to know some of my closest friends, and husband, during those trials, but I still wouldn't wish them on anyone else.

After leaving the train station, we took the younger two by their Uncles' shop downtown and then stopped for a nice lunch. It was quite an adventure watching the kids try things out in the shop. They probably got into a bit more than I would have liked, but we were having such a grand time catching up with old friends. It's hard to believe that  we are old enough to be sending our own children off to school now!

I cannot begin to say how nice it was to have such a normal day. Although, if I'm being completely honest I do wish for a little excitement on occasion. I guess this is how life turns out. So many adventures early on, and then settling into nice routines as you age.

While it is odd to only have two children in the house tonight, we will be just fine. We'll all adjust to this new normal and I'm looking forward to our first mail updates. Time for a chess match before bed.

Love,
Ginny

This has been my latest adventure with the Secret Subject Swap. This week 16 brave bloggers picked a secret subject for someone else and were assigned a secret subject to interpret in their own style. Today we are all simultaneously divulging our topics and submitting our posts.

Here are links to all the sites now featuring Secret Subject Swap posts.  Sit back, grab a cup, and check them all out. See you there:

My subject is
Tell me what a day is like from the perspective of your favorite book character. It was submitted by Stacy Sews and Schools. I could have gone on much longer, but I got lost down a rabbit hole over at the Harry Potter Wiki! Ginny isn't necessarily my favorite character, but I felt drawn to a day in the life from her perspective, seeing as we have both recently sent children off for their schooling adventures. I also had a good laugh at the thought of Ginny keeping a diary later in life, in light of her earlier diary experiences.
