- Lose weight & exercise more--So I haven't even officially weighed myself yet. And I still can't do much exercise because it makes my toe hurt. I'm not giving up on this one though, just putting it on the back burner a little longer.
- Get rid of stuff--Well I did re-organize all my Christmas stuff and get rid of a bunch. I've also started selling some of the baby equipment we have in the basement. I've moved stuff around so junk is less noticeable, but I mainly did that to buy myself some more time; not to avoid the work altogether. I also took the crib out of the kids' room and replaced it with some storage for them.
- Pray more--I've been saying a prayer before getting out of bed every morning and trying to do a devotional with the kids in the mornings too. I found an app for my phone with devotionals for me and for the kids. I also like going to this website when I get to work in the mornings.
- Save more--This is going well except for the fact that our furnace just had to be repaired this morning! The funny thing is I keep finding money on the ground. Not even just pennies-dimes and quarters too! Now if only I could start having dollar bills fly in my face on windy days!!
- Blogging more regularly--This is my 14th post of the year; on the 17th day of the year, so I guess I'm keeping up with that so far.
- Plan better--I made a nice plan for the first week after I wrote that resolution. I haven't done any since then. Maybe I will get to it today (since I don't work tomorrow). This seems to be the one I haven't kept up with; but I can still go back to it.
- Be a Better Example to My Kids--ARGH! Is this something that can be measured? I still yell and lose my temper and get frustrated with my kids. Doesn't everyone? I am still trying on this one though. It's a journey; not a destination, right?
From some very brief Googling, it seems that about one third of people do not keep their resolutions passed the end of January; and only one fifth keep them the whole year. The things is, I don't see these resolutions as pass/fail. I see them as a goal to keep in sight or a path to stay on. If I don't pray tomorrow, does that mean I can toss that resolution out the window? NO! It just means try again when I remember. I don't see any point in giving up on these resolutions just because I miss a day...or a week.
What do you say? Have you kept your resolutions so far? Are you making progress?
I didn't really make specific resolutions, more like some mantras for the year. It's going well so far, I just have to keep up the momentum.
ReplyDeleteEr, well, I stopped tracking...
ReplyDeleteI set annual goals for my birthday, so for January I just have a few monthly goals. I'm succeeding in about half, the rest will get shifted to next month, and I'm not even worried about it:)
ReplyDeleteI've slipped a bit but not too bad! : )
ReplyDeleteI chose not to make a new years resolution this year and just do it! Good luck to you! ~Blessings
