Comments from the Peanut Gallery

We have a CD of Stories from "Between the Lions," a PBS show for kids. The show has a bunch of lions that work in a library and present literature to kids. The CD is a promotional from a fast food restaurant, so it isn't too long. It might only be 10 or 15 minutes, so I am quite familiar with it. This morning the story about Icarus and Dedalus came on (again).  I had just dropped the boys off at daycare and was driving to work with Frances in the back seat.  It came to the part of the story where Icarus and Dedalus were stuck in the labyrinth with no hope of escaping (dun dun DUN!) and Frances remarks, "I'll bet the wished they had two pieces of chalk."
Me: What good would two pieces of chalk do, Frances?
FJ: Well, two halves make a whole. Then they could just climb out the hole.
Me: Where did you hear that??
FJ: Math Curse
(Which is a book by Jon Scieszka, who we had the opportunity to meet last Spring.)

My kids love this author! It's good to know they have a sense of humor!!
