Leonisa Postpartum Shapewear {Review and Giveaway}

I will be the first to admit that I am a small person. I am five feet tall and my head has served as an arm rest for many people who thought they were the first ones to make that joke. In high school and college, I could (and frequently did) eat whatever I wanted and never worried about my weight.

Then life happened. And by life I mean three kids, a sedentary job, and a slower metabolism. My actual weight hasn't gone up terribly, it has just rearranged itself into less desirable places. My stomach and abs have had a really hard time recovering from this:
2 days past due with Benjamin
Don't get me wrong. I'm very proud of my body for doing what it did; namely carry and nurture three babies. At 8 lbs. 3 oz, 8 lbs, 10oz, and 7 lbs, 6oz, they weren't small babies. They were also a total of 20 days overdue (10, 12, and 8 days). That womb must have been pretty cozy!
Cozy, but huge!
Back to the present, though. I'm not ashamed of my post-baby body. I don't plan on wearing a bikini any time soon. But I never actually wore a bikini anyway, except maybe in high school. I really just want my pants to fit without having to suck it in all day!
circa 1995? Those were the days!

I was recently offered a chance to review some post-partum shapewear from Leonisa. I'll be honest, at first I thought, I am WAY too POST-partum to have a need for this, but then I thought about it some more, looked around their website, and decided to give it a try.

I got a pair of leggings and I have been really impressed with them. They don't feel tight or restrictive, but they do hold things in for me. I've worn them as leggings, both under a dress and while working out. I've worn them under my pants a few times too, which is especially nice (and warm) with all the cold weather we've been having. They are comfortable to wear and don't slide down all day.

You can purchase shapewear and other intimate apparel from Leonisa directly at their webpage, or you can enter to win one of three product choices below! Please note this giveaway is open to US residents only. Good luck!

  1. I am also not tall nor overweight by any means, but after having kids my tummy muscles definitely aren't as tight as they were back in the day either. So, shape wear is a must especially if I go to fancy parties or weddings. Thanks for sharing about this brand and will have to check them out further now.

  2. I'm really tall for a girl, actually. That doesn't mean that having babies hasn't messed with my body shape, either. I'm looking forward to reshaping myself after baby 4, but I know it's going to take a long time. My kids make me beautiful.

  3. I am vertically challenged and pleasantly plump. ;) This shapewear looks great though. I will have to see how high their sizes go.

  4. I love this! My stomach muscles are shot after 4 c-sections and there are some dresses and pants that don't really work for me.. I would love to be able to wear some of them today, but not without good support like this! Thanks for reviewing and sharing!

  7. The leggings I got are great for wearing under a dress! They smooth everything out so there aren't random lumps and bumps all over!

  8. It does take a lot of work, and in some cases there are things you just can't do anything about!I had healthy pregnancies and I didn't gain more weight than I should have, but on my small frame there was nowhere to go but out with those babies!

  10. I imagine that abdominal surgery times 4 must be hard to bounce back from! I found these leggings to be really great for smoothing things out under a dress or skirt.

  11. I love looking back at that picture too. I realized yesterday though, that my mom was the one who took it. That made me laugh a good bit! That's ab exercise, right?

  12. No matter how postpartum, there is always a need for shapewear, I say! Awesome giveaway.
And can I just say that you were the cutest pregnant woman ever? If I had known you then, I would have offered free maternity photos.

  13. Aww, thanks Tamara! My mom took lots of pictures. Mostly while shouting "You just don't look pregnant from the back!" Because every woman alive wants tons of pictures of her rear end, right?!?

  21. It does. I wouldn't wear it all the time, but there are certain outfits that call for it.
