The Great Escape (The Secret of the HIdden Scrolls, bk 3)

To abide by FTC guidelines, I am disclosing that I received this book from WorthyKids/Ideals for free in exchange for an honest review.

We just celebrated Easter, one of my most favorite times of the year. The sequence of the stories we hear at church is very comforting to me. There is a strong reminder throughout the whole season that God has a plan and will always care for us.

I recently had the chance to read a new book that came at the perfect time. It's a children's book (the only kind I seem to have time to read lately!) called The Great Escape. It's book three in The Secret of the Hidden Scrolls series. Siblings Peter and Mary, along with their dog Hank go on amazing adventures back through time to visit biblical events and solve mysteries. Think of it as Magic Tree House meets the Bible.

In this adventure, Peter and Mary travel back to ancient Egypt. They meet Pharaoh's daughter and are served by the slaves in the palace. They also encounter Moses, who has come to Pharaoh to plead for the freedom of the Israelites. The story stays true to the story of the plagues, the Passover, and the Exodus.

Henry also read the book when I was done. It was fun listening to him excitedly exclaim about events he knew of from the Bible. It was also a good starting point for some well-timed discussions about Passover and the Old Testament.

You can see the first two books in the series on Amazon: The Beginning and Race to the Ark, as well as newly released The Great Escape. You can also try to win your own copy right here!
