Word of the Year: Stillness

I saw a post from NJ about a word of the year that she had picked for last year.  I liked the idea and I have since seen it other places too.  It inspired me to really think about what word I would want to focus on for 2014.  The first thought that came to me was actually a word I had already been pondering on in my head.  But like many of things going on in my head, it wasn't very focused or effective for me.  One of the things I have mentioned many times that blogging does for me is to keep me accountable, so I think that writing out my word of the year and some concrete goals for it, I can make this though one that does me some good.

For 2014 I would like to focus on:
Life is always busy. I can't get away from that.  There's employment work, house work, relationship building, molding and forming children and more.  But I can still choose to take time to be still.  In that stillness it is time to listen instead of talking; to take in rather than letting out; to i n h a l e and e x h a l e instead of panting.

And in that stillness I hope to find the energy and purpose to work on the essential and the insight to move away from the junk that clouds up my head otherwise.

Do you have a word of the year?
