Five Minute Friday; Reflect

Five Minute Friday

1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community...

Five minutes on reflect...

GO

When I was in college one of the things my professors stressed was reflective teaching.  The basic idea being that you needed to take time away from going through the motions and doing all the lessons to sit back and think about what you had done.  To reflect on your methods; what worked and what didn't.  Obviously there are ways to overdo this, but I loved being a reflective teacher.  And I still love being a reflective person.

My feeling is that if something didn't go right, I can either give in and call it a day, or I can reflect on that and figure what worked and what didn't. I can plan on tweaking things until they work out as planned.

Isn't the definition of insanity, "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results?"  I certainly don't want to be insane!  I was to make things better.  That's why I think it is so important to look back on things and to take a minute to reflect on where you've been, who you've met and how you got where you are. Only then can you make plans to improve for the future.  Only then can you move on to bigger and better things. Only then can you make positive changes to your environment.

STOP

Have a blessed day my friends!
