Blog Hop: Favorite Recipe

I have been thinking for over a week about which recipe to post as my favorite. Does that mean my favorite to cook? Or my favorite to eat? Or something I cook often? I DON'T KNOW! Plus, I don't have pictures of my food, so this post won't be visually exciting. Sorry!

OK, here goes...Chicken Pot Pie! (This is not really my favorite, but it is good and easy, and that's important too!

You will need:
  • 1 can of chicken, drained or about a cup of cooked chicken cut up
  • 1 can of cream of "fill in the blank" soup (I have used mushroom, potato, and celery with good results)
  • 1 can of mixed vegetables or one small bag of frozen mixed vegetables, defrosted or 2 cups of your own mixed vegetable concoction (already cooked)
  • 1 cup of Bisquick baking mix
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 egg

Mix the chicken, soup and veggies in a casserole dish. Mix the Bisquick, milk and egg in a bowl. Pour this mixture over the chicken mixture, evenly. Bake at 400 degrees for about half an hour. It's done when the top is a golden brown.

This recipe is very easy to throw together. I always have the ingredients on hand. You can substitute in lots of different ways. And my kids and husband LOVE it. It's really a winner in a lot of different ways!

3 Things You Did Not Know About Me:

  • I still have (and wear) many of the same clothes I had in high school. I am not in to fashion or styles and as long as something fits and does not have holes in it, I am good with that.
  • Two of the things I enjoy most in this world are being a mother and teaching. It's an awesome thing that I can do both at the same time. I am fortunate to have a job that is flexible enough to allow me lots of time to spend with my kids throughout the day while still interacting with and forming the minds of young children.
  • I am an html cheater. I like using it and know enough to impress a few people, but really most of the time I look up what codes I need to know in order to use them. I don't do anything fancy, but I feel a small amount of satisfaction in being able to speak to my computer. >MckLinky Blog Hop
  • Overheard in the backseat

    On the way home today:
Frances: Mommy? Do remember when Henry and me used to both fart at the same time and make the room all stinky? Mommy? Do you? Do you remember that??

    Blog Hop: Favorite Picture

First of all I would like to strangle thank Brent for making me look through all my old pictures. I had a great time strolling down memory lane, trying to find my favorite:
This is Frances meeting Henry for the first time. I was scheduled to be induced on the morning of June 6th, so I had made arrangements for my good friend, Julie, to keep Frances for the day. Frances went to school with Julie and helped her pack up her classroom for the end of the year. That afternoon when Henry was born, we called Julie to let her know that it was time to bring Frances. Frances had been very excited up to the arrival her baby brother, but it was nothing compared to how she felt when she saw him. It was LOVE at first sight. Even now, two years later, she loves that boy to pieces! Sure, they fight and yell at each other; but they love each other deeply and I love to watch them play together.

I have fallen away from this habit! I love the structure it can give to an otherwise hectic week. It saves time and money as well.

Tuesday--We are going out to Wood Grill for a going away dinner for Ms. Treasa
Wednesday--Spaghetti with meat sauce, corn on the cob, and peaches
    Thursday--quesadillas and pears

Saturday--Lunch will be sandwiches; dinner will be mostly left overs with some potato sald thrown in for good measure
Sunda--lunch will be more leftovers; dinner will be pork roast, French bread, green beans and oranges

    MckLinky Blog Hop, take one

Welcome to the Liebers' blog. This blog is a place for me to record our daily lives so that I have a permanent memory of our life as a family. I have never been good at keeping a journal, so this is what works for me. It also allows friends and family who are not physically close to be updated on what we are doing. I love to post pictures of my two kids and especially love making videos of my kids just being themselves. When they are grown I will be able to look back and see them in all the stages of their lives-plus I will have lots of blackmail for future boyfriends/girlfriends and some great embarrassments for the wedding receptions!

    Enjoy!!
