My little girl is all grown up...

We have had a good Thanksgiving weekend. We spent the actual day at Ken's parents' house in Culpeper. Ken had to work on Friday, so we came home Thursday evening. The kids and I (and Ken when he isn't working) have been spending lots of time together playing, hanging out and making meals. We have made breakfast together a few days in a row. Frances likes to help by cracking the eggs and whisking the mixture. I didn't make breakfast a big deal today because I didn't feel well last night and I woke up very tired. While I was in the shower, Frances came to tell me she was going to make her own breakfast. I said "OK" and off she went. Here is her recipe:

Frances' Breakfast

  1. Climb precariously on top of the cabinet and get down a mixing bowl.
  2. Crack three eggs into the bowl. Make sure to drip egg on the counter top and down the front of the cabinet doors.
  3. Whisk.
  4. Add a few spoonfuls of cranberry sauce and applesauce. Put spoon back in spoon cup.
  5. Whisk again.
  6. Put mixture in microwave for "too long."
  7. Eat...three bites...and then refuse because it "doesn't taste right."
  8. Eat cereal like a normal person.

This is a great way to get rid of those holiday leftovers. And I do mean "get rid of" because this went right into the trash can after the first three bites.

Mommy and Daddy's bedtime story

Being computer-less is no fun at all and I am missing lots of blogging moments. I am posting this so I can remember to come back and tell the story of what happened last night. Cutest thing in the world. Check back later to find out!
