Henry woke up from his nap a little early today because he was really wet. He nursed for a few minutes to get himself "back on track" and now he is exploring the living room. The first place he headed to play?? Under the bench in the living room! He crawled under the little support piece and sat there(half hunched over) banging a cup on the hard wood floor. Why do we bother buying toys? He stayed there for quite a while too! Now all he wants to do is push buttons on my laptop, so I guess this post is toast!

Rolling Down Hills
Yesterday was an absolutely gorgeous day! The kids at school played outside for most of the morning and then Ms. Heidy called them in for lunch. She and I were standing outside the back door to the school when a few of the kids started rolling down the hill. Rather than try to stop them, we stood and watched. Pretty soon the whole class had kicked off their shoes and were rolling down the hill. Boy it looked like fun!! I remember rolling down hills when I was much younger. I tried it again as an adult and it hurt pretty bad. Something to be said for youth, I guess. I wanted to take a picture, but of course, I couldn't find my camera. Oh well, maybe next time.

40 years!
Yesterday my parents celebrated 40 years of marriage!! Alan, John, Ken, Frances, Henry and I all met up with them at the Natural Bridge Hotel Restaurant for a late lunch/early dinner. Our server is the same nice old lady who has served us everytime we meet there for meals. They have a nice buffet that has different kinds of food as well as soups, salads and fruit. Henry even ate some shredded cheese and sliced peaches! My mom took lots of pictures, so hopefully she will send me some soon and I can post a group shot.
Congrats Mom and Dad!!

Princess Night at Chick-Fil-A
What a fun idea! For very little money, Chick-Fil-A just made themselves a ton of money and had a great time doing it. Tonight was "Princess Night." All kinds of little girls came out in their princess dresses to eat dinner at Chick-Fil-A. Miss Virginia was there as well as some other pageant winners. They had balloons, and princess stickers and princess bracelets. Frances dressed as a forest fairy and we took Henry and met up with a friend from work and her two little girls. They had a blast! My favorite part was over on a table they had wide ribbon set out that was pre-pinned like a pageant sash. I was waiting for Frances to finish playing so we could go over and make one. I looked in the window of the play part and she already had one on. At first I thought she has commandeered someone else's, but when she came out I saw that she had made her own! She wrote her name on it all by herself!!! Then she went over and made one for Emily. She didn't spell it exactly correct, but it started with and E and ended with a Y. To top it all off, she went over and made me one with my name on it. I LOVELOVELOVE that she can spell my name all by herself from memory. (It kinda makes up for the fact that Henry delights in saying "Dada" every time I try to coach him on "Momma.")
All in all it was a great evening. And Henry devoured all the chicken nuggets and French fries that were within his reach. You would have thought I don't feed him.

Henry's turn
So, I blog a lot about Frances, but this time it's Henry's turn. He learned a new sound! He likes to say "ooooooo" with his mouth in the cutest little "O" shape. Now he says: da-da, gi-gi, la-la, and ooooooooo. We are coaching him on Mama, but so far no luck.
